Beach Wedding at Mt Maunganui

Scott & Michelle picked the beautiful setting of Mt Maunganui beach in February for their wedding. The day before during the rehearsal was extremely hot, so everyone was relieved when their big day dawned lovely and warm, but slightly overcast - perfect for video and photos!

The aisle was flanked by toi tois and the alter framed by a rock and the sea was slowly lapping its way up the beach - just missing the oblivious bridesmaid’s feet!

The ceremony was personal for both Scott & Michelle and very touching. "It was good knowing that it was being recorded - it meant I didn't have to worry about remembering it all!" says Scott. "Michelle looked spectacular and I can relive her walking down the aisle towards me whenever I want!"

Photos with family and friends on the beach was followed by bridal photos at the base of Mt Maunganui and the wharf at Pilot Bay. "The photos were beautiful, but it was neat to see the different aspects the video captured, especially the moments we missed when getting our photos taken." says Michelle. "It really brought the photo shoot to life and having it set to music from the day made it really special."

The big learning for us was that even if you move fast to get to the reception venue, you need to be very organised if the bridal party decide to race there!

The reception was in a marquee on Michelle's parents property and offered a gorgeous setting for everyone to celebrate and party the night away. Flaming logs throughout the garden added that special touch.

Due to illness some key family members were unable to be part of the day. "It meant a lot to be able to show them the day and for them to share in the experience. My Grandparents loved it." says Michelle.

They both really enjoy reliving the day with each other and family. "Having a DVD with chapters made watching it really easy. We can just pick and choose the section we want to watch. Everyone has enjoyed seeing the parts of the day they weren’t there for - the DVD has really brought a new dimension to our wedding!"
